ECS Trainee Electrician Card

The ECS Trainee Electrician card is for individuals currently enrolled in a formal JIB industry training programme that leads directly to an ECS Gold Card.

Direct Supervision Required: A “Trainee” is strictly defined as someone on a structured path toward becoming a fully qualified electrician. All work performed on-site must be completed under the supervision of a qualified professional.

Trainee Card Stages & Requirements

Stage 1: Entry Level

Requirements:

• Employer’s Sponsorship: Written confirmation from your employer.

• Training Evidence: A copy of your formal industry training agreement.

• Health & Safety Requirement: * You must pass the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Assessment.

Stage 2: Intermediate

Requirements:

• Employer’s Sponsorship: Written confirmation from your employer.

• Health & Safety Requirement: * A valid ECS Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Assessment certificate is mandatory for this stage.

• Technical Qualification (Choose ONE):

  • C&G 2330 (Level 2), C&G 236/2360 Part 1, or C&G 2351 (Units 1-4).

  • C&G 2365-02 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation.

  • EAL Units 1-6 or EAL Level 2 Diploma (600/6724/X or 601/4561/4).

  • Units ELTK 01 to 05 of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma.

Stage 3: Advanced

Requirements:

• Employer’s Sponsorship: Written confirmation from your employer.

• Health & Safety Requirement: * A valid ECS Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Assessment certificate is mandatory. This must be in-date at the time of your application.

• Progress Evidence: Proof that you are working toward your AM2/AM2S and Level 3 NVQ.

• Technical Qualification (Choose ONE):

  • C&G 2330 (Level 2 & 3), C&G 236/2360 Parts 1 & 2, or C&G 2351 (All 8 Units).

  • C&G 2365-03 Level 3 Diploma or C&G 8202-30 Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma.

  • EAL Level 3 Diploma (All 10 Units) or EAL Advanced Diploma (601/4563/8).

  • Units ELTK 01 to 08 of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma.
