The Network Infrastructure Installation Assistant card (White with a Green Stripe) is specifically for individuals in supportive roles within the network cabling sector. Holding this card proves you have the required safety knowledge and technical awareness to assist qualified installers on-site under supervision.
Eligibility & Requirements
To be eligible for this card, you must meet the criteria in one of the following two routes, plus the mandatory health and safety requirement.
Route 1: Formal Qualification
You must hold a Level 2 Award in Communication Cabling. Recognised qualifications include:

City & Guilds 3668-02: Principles of Communications and Structured Cabling (Units 201 & 203).

City & Guilds 3667 or 3666: (Older legacy equivalents).

BTEC Level 2 in a similar communications cabling field.
Route 2: Awareness Assessment
If you do not have a Level 2 qualification, you can instead pass the Network Infrastructure Awareness Assessment.

This is a technical assessment covering copper and fibre principles, containment standards (like rack units and bend radii), and industry legislation.

It is available via Remote Invigilation, allowing you to take the test from home or work.

Mandatory Health & Safety
Regardless of which route you choose, you must also hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) Assessment.
