The FESS Systems Operative card is designed for professionals working in the Fire, Emergency, and Security Systems industry as specialist installers or maintenance operatives.
This card is a key step in your career. Many operatives, after gaining relevant experience, go on to achieve the FESS Gold Card (Systems Technician) by completing further required qualifications.
Eligibility & Requirements:-
To qualify for the FESS Systems Operative card, you must meet the criteria in one of the two main routes, plus the mandatory Health & Safety requirement.
Route 1: Assessment Pathway
You must pass the ECS FESS Assessment specific to the industry sector discipline you are applying for:

Route 2: Qualification Pathway
Alternatively, you are eligible if you have completed a recognized qualification from EAL, FIA, or FireQual, or if you hold a Legacy Qualification listed below:

C&G NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fire, Security, and Emergency Systems (Fire)

C&G Level 2 or 3 Certificate/Diploma in Electronic Security and Emergency Systems (Fire)
Approved Legacy Qualifications (Security Systems):

C&G NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fire, Security, and Emergency Systems (Intruder)

C&G Level 2 or 3 Certificate/Diploma in Electronic Security and Emergency Systems (Intruder)
